The Event and Volunteer Coordinator provides support for the House staff and is very involved with fundraising activities of RMHC in Omaha. The position is with the Development team and works closely under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Giving.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Event Coordinator require the ability to communicate well with event attendees, sponsors, volunteers and staff. The Event Coordinator must pay careful attention to detail to help plan a successful event. Other Event Coordinator responsibilities include:
Assisting with all aspects of the event planning
Communicate with attendees and sponsors, collecting logos and guest names
Assist with donor correspondence. (i.e., thank you letters, collecting payments).
Assist with auction reconciliation after the event
Organize and purchase supplies for events as needed.
Assist with logistics for events as needed.
Set-up committee meeting schedules and calls.
Pick up signage, product, prizes, ect., at various locations around town.
Responds to volunteer inquiries as needed.
Assist with third-party fundraisers such as set-up, errands, and attendance if needed
Oversee and manage the logistics of the Meals That Heal program, including but not
o Scheduling of and communication with Meals That Heal groups
o In conjunction with the Development Team, confirm ongoing community
outreach to ensure fresh meals are provided daily for families
o Assist with Meals That Heal check-in process, including training of how to use
appliances and where to find all cooking supplies and utensils
o Maintain schedule allowing for interaction with Meals That Heal groups,
typically including the 4:00-6:30pm timeframe.
o Actively participate with Development Team to identify and steward donors
effectively to cultivate a more robust involvement in RMHC.
Assist with clerical duties, including but not limited to:
o Field all walk-ins and answer phone calls if needed
o Prepare materials for all RMHC departments, including Board of Directors
o Prepare conference room for staff and Board of Directors Meetings
o Run all necessary House errands
o Provide assistance to House staff as needed
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school or GED certificate required.
At least two years of relevant professional experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office Suites and database software.
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects.
Work Schedule and Salary:
The Event and Volunteer Coordinator is a full-time position with 40 hours per week. The hourly wage is $20.00 per hour. The Event Coordinator must be available for the following RMHC events:
Wings & Wheels, Lincoln, NE – June 3 rd , 2022
Wings & Wheels, Omaha, NE – September 8, 2022
Big Red Friday, Omaha, NE – Tentatively August 26, 2022, and
Sporting Clays Tournament, Brainard, NE – October 7 th – 9 th, 2022
