Job Title: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Location: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands, 2610 Hamilton Street, Omaha, NE 68131
Wage: $45K Annually

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands (BGCM), an affiliate with Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a comprehensive out-of-school provider designed to support the most vulnerable youth in the Midlands. Position Summary:
Responsible for the marketing content for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands. Create fundraising and marketing materials that bring ideas, voices and stories to life. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and layout of a variety of materials ranging from brochures to invitations, website to social media, video and photography to e-mail marketing and more. Create and manage projects from conception to completion through implementation of design solutions to meet intended marketing and fundraising goals.

Essential Functions:
Leadership:

  • Develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies designed to build appreciation and support of Club programs, services and activities, and to increase participation by youth and teens in the community
  • Develop and implement social media, Internet and marketing/public relations strategies designed to build appreciation, understanding and financial support of Club programs, services, and activities and to increase participation by the community with the Clubs
  • Contribute to attaining financial support by increasing the number of online followers and donors to the Clubs, while building a base of support through marketing and public relations campaigns using traditional and non-traditional media
Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to operational strategic planning, identifying opportunities to promote Club services, programs and activities to specific constituents or the public at large
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve marketing and public relations activities, including awareness building of Club’s effectiveness with helping youth achieve outcomes
Resource Development:
  • Contribute to attaining financial support by increasing membership and building the Club’s base of support through marketing and public relations campaigns
  • Design and promote special events that focus awareness on Club activities, engage community support and generate revenues
  • Create and produce all marketing, fundraising and public relations materials to increase fundraising revenue and the visibility of the Club programs, services and activities
  • Illustrate marketing concepts by designing the layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size and style
  • Design and produce direct mail, newsletters, e-philanthrophy campaigns, social media directives, videos, and more
  • Create and produce marketing materials related to special events that engages community support and generates revenue
Resource Management:
  • Control marketing and public relations expenditures against budget. Manage vendors and freelance consultants to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services
  • Accountable for adhering to the marketing budget and communications calendar
  • Establish and maintain procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials and activities.
  • Adhere to procedures and formats for Internet, social media, marketing and public relations materials and activities. Continuously develop knowledge of best practices to market Club programs, services and resource development activities within the community

  • Responsible for website enhancements and management, content development, photography and blog
Partnership Development:
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with Club staff, volunteers, members, parents, supporters, other Clubs, media contacts, consultants and vendors and other nonprofits to establish professional links within the community
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensure timely processing of payments utilizing existing accounting policies and procedures
Marketing and Public Relations:
  • Participate in development of and coordinate implementation for all marketing and public relations activities to increase the visibility of Club programs, services and activities
  • Maintain good public relations with local media contacts, members, families, alumni, community leaders and youth serving professionals
  • Identify opportunities to promote Club services, programs and activities through marketing and public relations activities
  • Maintain good public relationships with local media contacts, members, families, alumni, donors, community leaders and others
  • Accountable for meeting deadlines for publications
  • Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Recommended:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and internal/external customer service skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and project management abilities, attention to detail, and promptness
  • Knowledge of the mission, vision, values, core beliefs, objectives, policies, programs, procedures, principles, and practices of non-profit organizations, youth development services preferred
  • Possess creativity, versatility and originality
  • Excellent graphic design skills
  • Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills, including supervision of vendors and suppliers. Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to detail
  • Experience in shooting and editing photography and video
  • Knowledge of print production process
  • Knowledge of postal regulations and guidelines
  • Experience working with and demonstrating compassion and/or sensitivity toward vulnerable populations and individuals with diverse backgrounds present in the organization’s service population, both individually and in groups
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies
  • Must be of flawless integrity & be able to fully embody our organizational Core Values
Required:
  • College Degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations or business
  • 1 to 2 years of progressively responsible experience in graphic design, marketing and public relations, social media, and website management
  • Must effectively and comfortably manage in a virtual environment:
  • Must be proficient in the use of Windows, Internet, Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access or other database software proficiency), Zoom or other Virtual Meeting platforms, and Google Platform (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Ability to earn and maintain mandatory CPR & First aid certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet eligibility requirements to drive a BGCM vehicle
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, criminal and driving records investigation
  • The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports and properly document program and organizational data
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to sites or meetings
  • Must have regular and reliable attendance
