Job Description/Summary:
10/11 NOW is accepting applications for a full-time weekday newscast producer in Lincoln, NE. You will be the primary driver of the market’s dominant mid-day and 5pm newscasts, finding and producing compelling, important stories that drive viewership. There may be on-air opportunities for the right candidate.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Enterprise story ideas that appeal to the greater Nebraska audience, with a strong focus on rural communities and lifestyle
• Be prepared to travel to where the story takes you throughout the State, developing relationships and story ideas along the way.
• This will be a very independent role for the right candidate, and will require strong time and resource management. You will track and manage stories, from idea to completion. You’ll generally be responsible for contributing one feature story/day.
• Execute all aspects of storytelling, scheduling shoots and interviews, shooting video, writing scripts, editing, and going live as needed.
• Work flexible hours
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Ability to shoot and edit video, and effectively communicate live on-air
• Interest in the communities, history, and agriculture of Nebraska
• A four-year degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Familiarity with ENPS, Edius Editing, TVU, ARC Publishing, Sony ENG, and Bitcentral a plus
• The position could be in Lincoln, Grand Island, or Hastings depending on the candidate.
