We’re hiring a Social Media Director to join the Connections Team which is comprised of our Public Relations, Social and Media departments.

SUMMARY

The Social Media Director will play a key role in leading, growing, and overseeing organic and paid social media strategies and campaigns. You’ll work closely alongside our creative, account planning and account management teams to create strategic social media content that breaks through to engage with key audiences.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages strategic vision for client accounts and campaigns
  • Guide research and insights development to help differentiate our clients’ social media strategy and tactics
  • Develop and oversee organic and paid social strategies and implementations across client platforms, employee advocacy programs and influencer partnerships
  • Lead client meetings and presentations, and be a main point of contact for client communication across 3+ clients
  • Oversee creation of strategic social media briefs for creative execution
  • Lead and assist in brainstorming sessions
  • Review and approval of paid and organic social posts, ensuring error-free published content
  • Oversee reporting of monthly and quarterly social and competitive reports
  • Find gaps and work to ensure internal processes are efficient
  • Oversee invoices and paid social billing, ensuring budgets are properly managed
  • Closely collaborate with PR Director, Creative Director and Account Management teams to provide integrated client deliverables
  • Provide direct report and management for junior team members on the account to ensure client deliverables and deadlines are flawlessly executed while coaching and providing constructive feedback
  • Proactively bring innovative social strategies and ideas to the team on behalf of clients
  • Support business development by providing social media research and proposal content for new business pitches
  • Be an industry expert, staying on top of trends, themes and social changes to provide industry updates to agency team members and clients
  • Creation of POVs on emerging platforms and third party partners to provide strategic recommendations for potential partnerships

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience managing social media content for B2B and B2C audience segments
  • Management across a variety of paid social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn platforms
  • Experiencing developing and managing influencer partnerships and campaigns
  • Experience developing and managing employee advocacy programs
  • Experience collaborating with analytics teams or working directly in Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics measuring social traffic, conversions and ROI
  • Familiarity with social media tools for publishing, monitoring, social listening and reporting (Sprinklr, Netbase, Grin, SproutSocial, etc.) in addition to standard applications like Excel and Google Slides
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit bringing new ideas to the team and clients
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines and to juggle multiple tasks

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 7+ years of experience working in social media; agency experience preferred
  • Previous experience working on an enterprise account with segmented business units, needs and goals; financial or automotive experience preferred
  • Previous management of junior team members
