Job Description/Summary:
1011NOW is looking for a driven journalist for the role of news photographer/MMJ in our main Lincoln newsroom. Your primary duty will be to be the eyes and ears of news events happening in Lincoln – from responding to breaking news to working with reporters on daily assignments and live shots to shooting local and Nebraska sports.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Gather video and sound of news and sports events around Lincoln and the surrounding area as assigned
• Accompany reporters on shoots, run live shots, edit stories for broadcast, and publish to all platforms
• Maintain and master news gathering and editing equipment
• Meet tight daily deadlines
• Respond urgently and appropriately to breaking and developing news
• There may be opportunities to write scripts and report on-camera for the right candidate
Qualifications/Requirements:
• On-air experience and a consistent track record of meeting deadlines
• Ability to shoot and edit video
• Flexibility in scheduling, to respond to the changing news landscape
• A four-year degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Familiarity with ENPS, Edius Editing, TVU, ARC Publishing, Sony ENG, Social Media a plus
– Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record. Employment is contingent on successfully passing a driving record check.
