Paid Search Strategist

Position summary.

As a paid search strategist, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day management of our client’s paid search initiatives. Responsible for driving traffic, leads, and revenue through effective management and optimization, you will need both analytical skills and creative problem-solving to deliver measurable results.

Minimum experience and requirements.  

  • Requires 2+ years of experience in a paid search media buying role
  • Possesses knowledge in media and advertising, with particular emphasis in paid search, Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
  • Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Keynote
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintains a high attention to detail as well as strong organizational and time management skills
  • Performs duties and tasks independently with little supervision, while also understanding when to collaborate and seek guidance
  • Is flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses curiosity and confidence to solve complex problems

Principle accountabilities & job functions.  

  • Media buying & strategy: 
    • Optimize paid search campaigns with respect to pacing, audience engagement, landing page and creative testing, placement performance, and more 
    • Mine search queries to identify opportunities for keyword expansion or negative list building 
    • Monitor search query shifting across ad groups and identify opportunities to improve user experience 
    • Create, test and refine ad copy to improve CTR and onsite engagement 
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to gather creative assets, ad copy, and tracking parameters for campaigns 
    • Perform quality assurance checks to verify that ads are displaying correctly and tracking properly across all relevant channels and devices 
    • Troubleshoot any technical issues or discrepancies related to ad serving, tracking, or campaign delivery, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues promptly 
  • Analyzing/reporting: 
    • Monitor and analyze campaign performance data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for optimizing media buys and improving client ROI  
    • Conduct weekly reporting activities to keep internal and client teams up to date 
    • Contribute to larger presentations and recommendations—and be comfortable having conversations with clients and internal team members 
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams on the holistic performance of each client and identify specific paid search strategies to support desired outcomes
