Job Summary/Description:
KOLN-TV, the strong market leader in the Lincoln/Hastings/Grand Island market, is looking for an experienced news anchor to help lead our growing streaming-exclusive digital coverage. This isn’t a traditional anchor role. You’ll be operating and anchoring your own, live, digital productions.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Responding urgently and appropriately to breaking and developing news
• Producing your own breaking new cut-ins, using our streaming software to load video, and graphics, set up interviews, etc.
• Use our various digital and broadcast platforms to publish content
• Generating your own regular streaming segment ideas
• Filling in as a newscast anchor as needed
• Gather, write, and edit stories for newscasts and digital platforms as assigned
• Be a multi-platform storyteller, with regular posts to social media and the station’s website and news apps
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Exceptional writing ability
• Exceptional news judgment
• At least 2 years of newscast anchoring or reporting experience
• A four-year degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Familiarity with ENPS, Edius or other non-linear editing systems, TVU, Bitcentral, or ARC Publishing a plus
