AdReads from AAF Omaha is a virtual book club, where we talk about books about advertising via Zoom meetings.
Our first book is an easy one – “Advertising for Skeptics” by Bob Hoffman, aka TheAdContrarian. In his introduction, he says “I like to write short books” and this one comes in at only 149 pages – each one filled with fact-based opinions about the sorry state of advertising today. Bob describes himself as “someone to add controversy and piss people off” and is also regarded as one of the best ad bloggers out there.
It’s available on Amazon for just $5.99 (Kindle) or $7.99 for paperback so it’s easy to get into.
Our first session on May 14 from 5 to 5:45 will be moderated by David Moore and Aubrey Schieuer (the wonderful folks who brought you this year’s AAF Nebraska ADDY Awards) and we promise not to shame you for holding different opinions. The fun and learning comes in hearing what other people’s points of view.
So get the book, mark your calendar, and let’s get reading.
We can’t wait to hear what you think.
