Most Promising Multicultural Students Class Announced for 2019
Senior advertising leaders gathered in Washington, DC to select 50 high-achieving undergraduate seniors for AAF premier D&I program.
WASHINGTON, DC, November 8, 2018— The American Advertising Federation (AAF) hosted eight leading advertising industry professionals in Washington, DC to select the 2019 class of Most Promising Multicultural Students on October 24. This year’s judging panel included representation from Edelman, EnergyBBDO, HZDG, Publicis Health, Rp3agency, Wunderman, VMLY&R and Yes&.

The Most Promising Program is part of the AAF’s Mosaic Center initiative to promote diversity and inclusion within the industry and provides a talent pipeline for organizations committed to creating change in the advertising, media and communications industries. Each year, multicultural students from the AAF’s 160+ college chapters apply for Most Promising and those selected participate in a four-day industry immersion program that includes professional development workshops, site visits, Building Bridges awards luncheon, and a recruiters’ expo.

“The Most Promising class of students is selected from multicultural talent that reflects the diversity of demographics, experience and mindset of America.  The 2019 class is comprised of exceptional talent across various disciplines who will lend their creativity and voices to inspire a more inclusive workforce,” says Danielle Austen, Managing Partner & CEO at fluent360 and Chair of the AAF’s Mosaic Center.

Leading agencies and companies, including 72andSunny, Apple, FCB, Google, IPG, Leo Burnett, Omnicom Group, Publicis Groupe, Wieden+Kennedy and more consider Most Promising to be an incredibly valuable program in recruiting entry level talent.

Students from AAF’s college chapter network were vetted by industry professionals and selected through a rigorous application process that included submissions of essays, letters of recommendation, resumé/portfolio submission and stringent academic requirements. With an average GPA of 3.6, this year’s class represents 31 schools and 16 states across the country, including Florida, Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Texas.
