Community Outreach, Education, & Diversity

The More You Know

AAF Nebraska educates members on the latest trends in technology, creativity and marketing through seminars, monthly luncheon speakers, exhibitions and trade shows.

We also provide networking opportunities in a variety of settings so that you can make new connections, glean killer business advice and ideas, and expand business opportunities for yourself and your clients.

AAF Nebraska isn’t just for professionals; we encourage young people to enter the advertising business and offer both events and scholarships to students focusing on advertising fields of study. AAF Omaha gives college scholarships and sponsors college chapters at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Nebraska at Kearney and at Creighton University.

Speakers

We are looking for professionals in the advertising/marketing industry who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with our club. Please email aafomaha.teri@gmail.com if you are interested in speaking about one of the topics above.

“6 in 60”

Each quarter, AAF Nebraska hosts an affordable, after-hours professional development and networking event. Each event features a panel of six advertising and marketing professionals who are all experts on a specific topic. During the event, the panelists share firsthand experience and advice so that attendees can learn not only best practices, but also about rising trends in the industry. Attendees even have the opportunity to ask questions and network with panelists once the 60-minute discussion is complete. Our goals with each event are to:

Public Service

Each year, AAF Nebraska assembles a Public Service Committee which chooses a local non-profit organization to receive a comprehensive advertising campaign at little or no cost. The work produced by the committee has achieved critical acclaim and has received back-to-back-to-back Club Achievement Awards from the American Advertising Federation.
Recent campaign recipients include The Hope Center, Youth Emergency Services, Shaken Baby Task Force, The Kim Foundation/Project Relate, Children’s Respite Care Center and Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, Celiac Sprue Association, Midwest Heart Connection, RedBasket.org, Heartland Hope Mission, Coalition on Human Trafficking, Ronald McDonald House Charities Omaha, League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha, Partnership 4 Hope, Refugee Empowerment Center Omaha and Omaha Academy of Ballet.

Put your professional talents to work for your community. Contact Chris LaCroix, Jeffrey Maciejewski or Ross Finocchiaro today to get involved in AAF Nebraska’s public service opportunities.

Special Events

Pro-bono campaign work and killer events don’t come without a cost. To keep prices reasonable while still offering value and benefit for members, AAF Nebraska hosts 4 to 5 special events annually to raise money for educational programming and to fund a fully integrated marketing campaign for one non-profit organization. Special events are a great way to raise money for AAF Nebraska and to make new business connections.

AdWars

You Can’t Handle the Trivia!

The AdWars team competition tests your knowledge of advertising practices, terminology and trivia. But it’s anything but trivial (just ask someone from championship teams; just to mention a few Bozell, Bailey Lauerman, Smith Kroeger, 10/11 Television, Eleven Twenty-Three). It’s a brutal display of seemingly useless terms and acronyms. It’s a grueling and treacherous evening of famous jingles and tag lines. It’s always fun!
2024 AdWars | date to be announced.
