A quarterly note from the AAF Nebraska President

Hello, AAF Nebraska friends,
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as President of AAF Nebraska this year. More than anything, I’m excited about what we can accomplish together.
AAF Nebraska has a long history of bringing our industry together, but I think our value is really found in the smaller moments. Meeting someone new at an event. Learning something you can use the next day. Helping a student make an industry connection. Joining a committee and realizing you have something valuable to contribute.
That’s where I’d like us to focus this year.
How can we make it easier for more people to join in? How can we help our members grow their skills, networks, and careers? And how do we make sure AAF Nebraska provides real value every time someone gives us their time?
Those are simple questions, but I think they can lead us in some interesting directions.
You’ll see that thinking reflected in our professional development, networking, student programs, community outreach, and the events that simply give us a reason to get together. Some will be familiar. Some may evolve. And hopefully, we’ll try a few new things along the way.
As President, there’s one more question I want to keep asking throughout the year: How can I help?
Not because I have all the answers, but because AAF Nebraska works best when people help each other. Our board, committees, members, sponsors, volunteers, students, and industry partners all have a role in making this community stronger.
So consider this an invitation. Come to an event. Bring someone new. Join a committee. Share an idea. Volunteer. Meet someone you don’t know yet.
Our upcoming Annual Meeting and fall programming are a great place to start. I hope to see you there.
