Mark Carpenter to Receive AAF Omaha’s Highest Honor

OMAHA, Neb. (Jan. 11, 2016) Mark Carpenter, partner and vice president of creative strategy and production services at SKAR, will receive the American Advertising Federation Omaha’s top honor, the Silver Medal. The award will be presented during the 2016 American Advertising Awards-Nebraska Show and Banquet, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Omaha.

The Silver Medal is given to an AAF Omaha member who has achieved success in his or her career, has shown a consistently high degree of creative and original thinking in work endeavors, has strived to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession and has been active in civic groups, including AAF Omaha itself.

He brings a rare combination of knowledge, experience, creativity, integrity and professionalism to every project, large or small. One of the state’s most experienced copywriters and creative strategists, Carpenter has worked at several Nebraska ad agencies during his 33-year career, serving as creative director at three of them. He has developed advertising and marketing for successful brands including ALLTEL, the Nebraska Lottery, OPPD, Commercial Federal Bank, Valmont, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Pinnacle Bank, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, RED Development and Runza restaurants. During this time, Carpenter has won local, regional and national creative awards from the American Advertising Federation, the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the American Marketing Association, the National Grocers Association and the National Agri-Marketing Association.

Carpenter is currently on the board of directors of the Creative Center and taught advertising and marketing at Creighton University for six years. His community involvement has included volunteer work with Prison Fellowship Ministries, Bible Study Fellowship, the Open Door Mission and Omaha’s Abide Network. He is an elder and adult Sunday school teacher at Avery Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Nebraska.

American Advertising Awards-Nebraska Show and Banquet
The American Advertising Awards-Nebraska Show and Banquet is an annual event, open to the public, that honors advertising and public relations work in the state of Nebraska and is the first step to potential regional and national advertising honors. The event will be held at Omaha’s Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 S. 20th St., on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016. Advertising entry viewing begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. followed by the awards presentation. Tickets are $65 per person and can be obtained by calling 402-561-6625.
