(Omaha, NE, November 3, 2016) AAF Omaha announces the winners for Ad Pro and Ad Rookie of the Year. Lisa Conklin and Christine Dunn will be recognized and awarded for their respective nominations at AAF Omaha’s BOOM! Roasted Awards Dinner on November 10 at 6:00 pm. The event will also feature the Roast of Angel Carl, president of Angel Carl Marketing. The Boom! Roasted Award Dinner will be held at Gallery 1516.

Christine Dunn has been named the 2017 AAF Omaha Ad Rookie of the Year. She currently serves as event project coordinator at Vic Gutman & Associates.

The Ad Rookie of the Year award is given to an AAF Omaha member with five or fewer years in the advertising business who demonstrates outstanding work both professionally and in the community, with attention to AAF Omaha service.

Dunn chaired AAF Omaha’s 54th annual Meet the Pros conference and is currently co-chairing the student conference again in 2017. She serves on the AAF Omaha Board of Directors. Dunn graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) in May of 2014. Prior to graduating from UNO Dunn attended Meet the Pros four years as a student, was an AAF Omaha scholarship recipient in 2013 and the President of the AAF UNO Student Advertising Club. Dunn volunteered to serve on the Meet the Pros committee as a student and when asked to join the AAF Omaha Board of Directors in 2015 jumped at the chance and challenge to give back to students what she had learned just a few years earlier attending Meet the Pros.

Lisa Conklin is the recipient of the 2017 AAF Omaha Ad Pro of the Year Award. She currently serves as Senior Media Buyer at A&K Marketing, Inc.

The Ad Pro of the Year award is given to an AAF Omaha member who has a distinguished track record of service in advertising including professional and community service, with particular attention to AAF Omaha service.

Conklin has served AAF Omaha for more than five years as a committee member, board member and executive board advisor. She currently serves as AAF Omaha’s 1st Vice President/Treasurer. Conklin served the federation from 2012 through 2015 as Membership Co-Chair and the past two years has served as the education committee chair for the Omaha Advertising Expo (OAX!) event, working diligently to secure top local and regional advertising professionals for workshops and educational sessions offered at OAX!. Conklin has volunteered on and has been an advising mentor for many AAF Omaha committees. Conklin looks forward to serving the federation as their club President in 2017. Over the past several years she has traveled to both AAF regional and district leadership conferences on AAF Omaha’s behalf. Conklin is continually working to increase AAF Omaha member benefits and to bring community awareness to the federation’s mission. Conklin is always contributing and pushing the club to fulfill their role as the unifying voice for advertising in the Omaha community.

In addition to AAF Omaha service Conklin has volunteered for Make-A-Wish Nebraska as a wish granter and is a volunteer for the Boyd Elementary School PTA.

Dunn and Conklin come highly recommended by their peers and colleagues and demonstrate the outstanding work ethic and dedication in advocacy to AAF Omaha. Join AAF Omaha on November 10th to congratulate these deserving recipients.
