Farewell Message from Clark Rector | AAF National

AAF Friends and Colleagues,

As I leave the American Advertising Federation to begin my retirement adventure, I want to thank all AAF members and staff, both past and present, for what has been a wonderful and rewarding career.

We have enjoyed countless victories over the years, including defeating ad taxes and bans, helping to shape many privacy laws into measures that helped to protect both consumers and businesses, and so many other issues. The vast majority of those successes would not have been possible without the enthusiastic and effective participation of AAF’s nationwide grassroots network. To the extent that I helped enable you to do that important work, I am proud and hope that in some small way the AAF and the advertising industry are better because of my—because of our—efforts.

AAF’s Government Affairs is in good hands with my successor Anne Kierig. She has an impressive mastery of current issues and has already demonstrated the ability to engage the AAF grassroots. I know that AAF’s outstanding government affairs work will continue unabated under her leadership.

Please know that while I am moving on from the AAF, I will always remain connected and be available as a resource. So rather than saying goodbye, I’ll say I hope to see you down the road.

With affection and gratitude,
Clark
