Hello! My name is Christin Zbylut and I am currently the Marketing Operations Specialist at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. I have been at Children’s for 2 ½ years and it has been the most rewarding job in my career so far.
I was born in Omaha and have lived here my whole life. I decided to stay in Omaha for college and attend College of Saint Mary where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I played softball there until I tore my pitching arm. I know most of you are asking yourself, “how did she end up in marketing?” Well, it’s a fun short story to tell. I volunteered in the CARES Unit at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center my junior year of college. I was deciding what I wanted to go to graduate school for and decided to email the CEO at the time and ask some questions. He asked me to have a one on one meeting and by the end asked for my resume. It’s all history from there. I am currently in my Master’s program at Clarkson College for Healthcare Administration and plan to graduate Spring 2017.
What do you do in your free time? Any hobbies?
In my free time I play sand volleyball in various leagues around Omaha. I also seem to serve as a wedding planner to many of my girlfriends who are getting married, which I love since I just had my wedding last October. I miss all the planning!
If you could have any job you wanted, what would you do and why?
If I could have any job I would open an animal shelter. I love all animals and I would find it extremely satisfying to help find animals their lifetime homes.
Cats or dogs?
I love both! But if I had to ultimately choose, I would choose dogs. I currently have two dogs who are both Husky-Alaskan Klee Kais. Loki is 18 months and Elsa is 4 months.
What’s your favorite place to vacation?
This is an easy one for me, I would choose Disney World. My husband and I got engaged at Disney World in front of the castle and it is also where we spent our honeymoon. Some people think that might be a little cheesy, but I had never been to Disney World before and the fact that my one of my biggest milestones in my life so far was there, makes it one of the best places for us … and the happiest
What was your first job?
My first job was working at Professional Research Consultants (PRC) as an interviewer my senior year of high school. It was a great first job because I received above minimum wage, PTO and paid holidays. As a 17 year old, I was so excited.
