Freelancers Forum Recap

Nomad Professionals on a Constant Quest

Copywriters, designers, non-profit planners, marketers, and motion illustrators came together on March 14 at the Freelancers Forum.  A crowded room of advertising professionals and AAF NE Board members filled a party room at DJ’s Dugout at 114th and Dodge to hear stories and experiences from tenured specialists.

The event’s purpose was designed around connecting freelancers with potential clients using a panel discussion format moderated by David Moore from Kingswood & Palmerston. Discussion centered around the ins, outs, and roundabouts of a freelance career in the advertising business. Networking was more than a buzzword as conversations filled the air.

Panelists shared a bit of their career trajectory, along with answering whether they would prefer to work in a more permanent role if they could start at the beginning of their career again or if the freelance world better suited them.  When asked if the right position came along if they would accept a job offer, panelists openly mentioned that position level and ultimately compensation would be deciding factors.

AAF Nebraska would like to thank the guests who attended and the panelists:

Upcoming events include AdReads on Zoom with author Sara Rosinsky on April 11 and the annual team trivia contest AdWars on April 25 at Barett’s Barleycorn Pub and Grill.
