Happening at the National level

As I’m sure you’ve noticed in the news, Congress passed a major tax reform bill last month. Senator Deb Fischer drew attention to a provision within the tax bill that she pushed for that would encourage small businesses to offer workers up to 12 weeks of paid family leave in exchange for a tax credit as big as 25 percent of the employee’s salary.

Meet Your State Senator!

Would you like to meet your state senator and help them understand your industry? Then make plans to participate in AAF’s Legislative Day activities! On February 7 from about 11:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m., we will host a small lunch at the State Capitol in Lincoln where we’ll hear about some important issues moving through our state legislature, receive some tips and talking points about effectively communicating the value of the marketing and advertising industry to our communities, and then hold brief 15-minute meetings with our state representatives.

AAF’s annual Meet and Greet event is a great opportunity to get to know your state representatives and let them know about your industry and business concerns. Plan to join us on Wednesday, February 7 at Billy’s Tavern from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
