The Nebraska Legislature Revenue Committee heard testimony on February 3, 2021 on LB422 introduced by Senator Tom Briese. The bill would presume a sales tax on all services. While not mentioning advertising directly, the ambiguity of this bill and causes concern and will remain a subject we watch closely. Several states have proposed taxes on advertising and related advertising services and we vehemently oppose any such tax. Historically states that have implemented broad advertising taxes have immediately felt the impact on their local economy and repealed such taxes.
