The Nebraska Legislature’s 2016 session will begin January 6. The 2016 session will be a short one, lasting 60 working days — ending on or around April 20.
Among some of the key issues expected to consume considerable floor time in 2016 are the state’s K-12 school aid formula, workforce development, taxes, the state’s $730 million record cash reserve, and roads’ construction and funding. Many of the bills introduced in the 2015 session will be carried over.
