Our amazing Holiday Luncheon was on December 17, 2019 at the Field Club of Omaha. We had great attendance and everyone had a good time celebrating the season. This event was sponsored by our elite sponsor Centro, and the hot cocoa bar was sponsored by our members from Capstone. Thank you to the silent auction item donors and wine pull donors, Rich Patton Blues and Entertainment, and to our public service team and our guests from The League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha for sharing information about the League’s mission and for providing an update on our public service project for the year.

Our AAF Omaha members and volunteers have been busy the past several months planning our winter lineup of educational and fun events for our members, students and the advertising community. We hope you can join us for one of our upcoming February events.

February 7, 2020 – Bowl-A-Rama
Bowl-A-Rama was rescheduled due to weather and will be held on Friday, February 7. Dust off your bowling shoes, gather your team of up to 6 bowlers and plan for a fun night of team building, bonding and bowling at The Mark. Find out more and register here.

February 17-18 – Meet the Pros
AAF Omaha’s annual student conference, Meet the Pros 2020, will be held on February 17 and 18 at the Scott Conference Center. Meet the Pros is one of AAF Omaha’s premier events of the year. We have been hosting this award-winning student conference for more than 58 years. Students hear from outstanding national, regional and local advertising professionals who have made it in our industry. They get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the real world of advertising, along with the chance to grow professionally and academically through portfolio and resume reviews while connecting with our successful professionals. If you would like to share your expertise by participating in round table discussions, portfolio and resume reviews or host a group of students for a tour at your agency or business, please contact Meet the Pros co-chairs Kevin Olive (kolive@verizonmedia.com) and Jenna Baird (jbaird@bozell.com).

Meet the Pros is not just for students. We have two luncheon keynotes this year we invite to you attend. On February 17, Steve Bobcock, former COO at Vayner Media, will be on hand. And on February 18, Erica Lee, Group Director at CrossMedia USA, will be our luncheon keynote. Find all the details at meetthepros.org.

February 18 – AdConnect
The next AdConnect is February 18 at the Legends, 6920 Pacific St. Plan to be there and network. Register here.

February 22 – 20/20 Creative Vision American Advertising Awards
Join us on February 22 for the American Advertising Awards at the Scoular Ballroom here in Omaha. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. Conducted annually by the AAF, our local Nebraska competition is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Visit nebraskaaddys.org/event-details/ to purchase tickets.
