PAULA STEENSON TO RECEIVE AAF OMAHA’S HIGHEST HONOR
OMAHA, NE (Jan. 9, 2017) Paula Steenson, founder and owner of Paula Presents!,
will receive the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Omaha’s top honor, the Silver Medal. The award will be presented during the annual American Advertising Awards-Nebraska Show and Banquet, Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln.
The Silver Medal is given to an AAF Omaha member who has achieved success in his or her career, has shown a consistently high degree of creative and original thinking in work endeavors, has striven to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession and has been active in civic groups, including AAF Omaha itself.
For over 30 years, Steenson has been (and continues to be) a major creative force in the Omaha ad community. During this time, dozens of Nebraska advertising agency writers and designers have worked for her, worked with her or been influenced by her. As the founder and owner of Paula Presents!, she has produced brilliant and memorable events for UNMC, the Omaha World-Herald, Gallup, Scoular, AAF Omaha, Dickens in the Market, Downtown Omaha Inc., the Visiting Nurses Association, the Paxton and many more.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Paula on the AAF Omaha board and can testify to her amazing energy and creative talent,” said Mark Carpenter, partner and executive vice president at SKAR. “Her eye for detail is incredible. The level of quality of the American Advertising Awards-Nebraska shows over the last six years (and in the many years when I wasn’t involved) can be totally attributed to Paula.”
Steenson’s volunteer work in the Omaha community is just as impressive as her professional resumé. She has been a past president and gala chair for Downtown Omaha Inc., a member of the Downtown Omaha Business Improvement Area Board since 2000, a past president and board member of AAF Omaha and has helped develop events like Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth, Benson’s 125th Anniversary Celebration and the Visiting Nurses Association’s Art & Soup fundraiser.
