New name for 57-year-old agency after acquisition earlier this year
OMAHA, Neb., March 26, 2019 – SKAR Advertising, a full-service integrated advertising agency in Omaha, announced today it now will be known as Smith Kroeger. The agency was purchased in January by Terry Kroeger, who was previously chairman and chief executive officer of BH Media Group and publisher of the Omaha World-Herald.
“Terry is steering this company toward a new period of growth and expansion,” said Mark Carpenter, executive vice president of creative strategy. “His investment, energetic leadership and business momentum have already created new opportunities, and we know that will only continue to build. The agency agreed across the board our company name should reflect that velocity.”
The agency’s new brand promise, Accelerate, represents what Smith Kroeger delivers to clients in a fast-paced industry: high-quality ideas that get initiatives off the ground fast.
“Companies come to us with challenges they’ve been seeing for months or even longer,” said Kroeger, president and CEO. “When business leaders choose Smith Kroeger, they should know they’re working with a quick-turn team that swiftly generates ideas and wants to demonstrate value and results as soon as it can.”
Smith Kroeger was founded as Smith Kaplan in 1962 by Wayne Smith and Ron Kaplan. The firm purchased Allen and Reynolds in 1972, and was then known as Smith Kaplan Allen & Reynolds. In the 1990s, the company started officially going by SKAR.
