Cal Kennedy, an AAF Nebraska Student Ambassador, has been making a strong impact both on campus and within our organization. He recently assisted the Community Outreach team during AdVenture+ at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln’s (UNL) Experience Lab, helping to connect students and professionals and ensuring the event ran smoothly.
A native of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, Cal is completing his capstone semester at UNL, where he’s earning a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Product Design. Growing up with a father who worked as a journalist for the Star Tribune sparked Cal’s early love of storytelling and visual communication. During his time in Lincoln, he’s built a close-knit creative community and discovered how design and humor can brighten everyday life.
Outside the classroom, Cal’s passions span public art, marine conservation, furniture building, and entrepreneurship. He recently launched Caligraphy LLC, a venture creating custom vinyl installations designed to bring vibrant, uplifting energy to shared spaces. After graduation, Cal hopes to grow his business while pursuing roles in creative agencies, social media strategy, or marine conservation — always aiming to inspire joy through his art.
