As the end of the club’s fiscal year draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to personally thank the incredible 2020-2021 AAFO board members for their most dedicated efforts.
Our mission is to advocate, educate, inspire and bring an inclusive sense of community to the advertising professionals of Nebraska so that they, and future generations, can continue to do the work they love. We educate members, policymakers, the media and the public on the value advertising brings to our community. The federation fosters the highest standards of practice and cultivates leaders.
The 2020-2021 Team not only upheld this mission – but elevated it.
In a year of uncertainty when events and meetings were shut down due to COVID-19, the board pivoted and got resourceful. Every in-person event, from special events, networking opportunities, professional development, Meet-the-Pros Student Conference to the American Advertising Awards, were re-imagined and/or re-invented and turned into virtual events. We were absolutely not going silent like so many organizations and wanted to maintain the value of membership.
Watching this board over perform this past year has not only been inspirational but aspirational. The development of operations, recruitment, responsible fidelity, mindfulness to inclusion and diversity and overall long-term success should give this team an amazing sense of pride.
For your time, talent and support, I am most humbly grateful to each of you.
Thank you all.
Daryl Anderson,
AAF Omaha 2020-2021 President
